Labiaplasty

A discreet procedure focused on comfort, confidence, and care

What Is Labiaplasty?

Labiaplasty is a cosmetic surgical procedure that alters the size or shape of the labia minora (inner vaginal lips), and in some cases the labia majora (outer vaginal lips). It may be chosen for physical discomfort, hygiene concerns, or personal reasons related to confidence and body image.

The procedure is carefully planned to achieve a natural appearance while prioritising comfort, function, and safety.

Treatment Journey

1. Consultation & Planning

Your journey begins with a confidential consultation, where you’ll have the opportunity to discuss your concerns openly and without judgement. Your surgeon will take time to understand what is causing discomfort or concern, explain normal anatomical variation, and discuss what labiaplasty can realistically achieve. Every labiaplasty procedure is planned individually. Your surgeon will recommend the most suitable technique based on your anatomy, comfort concerns, and desired outcome, with a strong focus on preserving natural appearance and function.

2. Pre-operative Preparation & Day of Surgery

You’ll receive clear, practical guidance on preparing for surgery, including medication advice, hygiene instructions, and what to expect before and after the procedure. Pre-operative checks are completed to ensure you are fit for surgery. On the day of your procedure, you’ll be welcomed into a calm, private clinical environment. Your surgeon will review the treatment plan with you, answer any final questions, and ensure you feel comfortable before proceeding. Labiaplasty is usually performed under local anaesthetic with sedation or general anaesthetic, depending on individual preference and clinical recommendation.

3. Aftercare & Recovery

Recovery from labiaplasty is generally straightforward, although individual experiences may vary. Some swelling and tenderness are expected in the early days, with gradual improvement over the following one to two weeks. Most patients are able to return to light activities within a short period, while strenuous exercise and intimacy should be avoided for several weeks to allow proper healing. You’ll receive clear aftercare guidance and follow-up appointments to support a safe, comfortable recovery and optimal results.

Some patients choose labiaplasty for comfort and functional reasons, while others do so for personal or aesthetic concerns.

Labiaplasty is performed using careful surgical techniques to minimise visible scarring. Incisions are typically placed in natural folds of the skin, allowing scars to heal discreetly over time. In most cases, once healing is complete, scars are subtle and difficult to notice. Proper aftercare and following your surgeon’s instructions help ensure optimal healing and scar appearance.

Recovery from labiaplasty is generally straightforward. Most patients can return to light daily activities within a few days, while swelling and discomfort gradually subside over 1 to 2 weeks. Strenuous exercise, sexual activity, and activities that cause friction should be avoided for about 4 to 6 weeks to allow complete healing and best results.

Yes, labiaplasty is a highly confidential procedure. Patient privacy is strictly maintained at every stage, from consultation to treatment and follow-up care. Medical records and personal details are kept secure, and discussions are handled with sensitivity and discretion, ensuring patients feel comfortable and respected throughout the entire process.
